Intro
For our team in  Tokyo we are looking to fill a one year contract position starting as soon as possible.
In this inspiring role you  will support our partner adidas in the delivery of the adidas message to the  consumer through owned and paid social, creating engaging content and  advertising experiences which drive conversation both one to one and at scale,  and connecting them to adidas’ wider digital world adidas.com and the adidas  app.

Tokyo Newsroom Background
 
The  Newsroom is part of adidas’s global digital communications hub to maintain close connections to the consumers in 12 key city markets around the world including Tokyo. Tokyo Newsroom crafts, curates, and publishes meaningful brand stories via PR, brand-owned and partner’s (influencer artists & athletes)  social channels to drive authentic conversation that connects to the brand and  consumer with speed, scale and relevance, delivering brand desire &  commercial return.

The Tokyo Newsroom currently manages 4 owned social channels on behalf of adidas in Japan;

Your mission
  • Implement  the digital publishing strategy across owned and paid social according to the  global brand and category calendar
  • Support  planning and content creation to deliver to the global brand and category calendar
  • Manage  and moderate adidas’ social communities, and work with Customer Service to ensure the best possible consumer experience on any social media touch point  
  • Partner with internal teams such as eCommerce to achieve business goals through end to  end campaign planning and execution across social media     
  • Liaise with the Newsroom Head Office team* – PR, Asset Publishing, Analytics – to maximize the publishing mix for all campaigns across owned, earned and paid  channels (liaising  with global team will require some late evening calls due to time difference)
  • Create best in class consumer journeys by connecting social media experiences to adidas digital platforms 
  • Ensure all campaigns and content are fully tagged and tracked to support measurement and advanced analytics efforts  
  • Support the Digital Publishing Managers to drive on-going innovation and best practice digital publishing    
  • Identify platform trends and consumer behavior and feed the insight back into digital publishing output and the wider team 
Your profile
  • Native in Japanese,  business-level spoken and written English
  • Experience with all major social media networks: Twitter/ Facebook / Instagram/ YouTube/Tiktok. Strength in Twitter is highly desirable
  • Social post copywriting  skills and experience posting on behalf of a brand is highly desirable
  • Naturally curious and motivated by the ever-changing world of digital and mobile
  • Passion for the sports and fashion / entertainment industry in Japan
  • Aware of locally trending topics and cultural moments in Japan
